Message from the Patriot's Board of Directors:

Greetings Patriots Bandmembers!

We hope you and your families are staying healthy as we all progress through this seemingly endless COVID mess. It has been a long time since we’ve been together as a band, but we hope to remedy that and begin playing music together again soon.

The COVID outbreak hit our band on multiple fronts. State restrictions not only prohibited our large group from assembling for rehearsals and concerts, but the same restriction also eliminated our audiences. Masks and social distancing rules brought our band to a standstill. Yes, COVID created quite a mess, but the end is in sight.

The Patriots Board of Directors met recently to begin planning for our return to rehearsals and concert performances. Our goal is to have band members feel as comfortable and safe as possible while performing again as a fully-instrumented, band. We haven’t addressed all the details yet, but we hope to get the band operating “business as usual” as soon as it is safe to do so.

Our current target is to resume regular, full-band, mask-free rehearsals on September 12, to prepare for a Christmas concert at Stocker Arts Center in December. By September most band members will be fully vaccinated and the COVID threat should be much reduced. Unfortunately, we will have to give up our Summer concert season which is a great disappointment to many of our players, hosts, and audiences.

We are anxious to see every band member back in their seats soon, but want everyone to feel safe and comfortable. Please be ready to receive a call from one of the Patriots Board Members to ask about any concerns you may have about this plan. We are also planning a time and location for a music exchange, when old music can be returned and new music distributed. That activity may be coupled with a social gathering, so please stay tuned to this website for more information.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate through this COVID period, and thank you for being a Patriots band member. It will be great to start playing music together again soon!
